Amy Jackson Douglas

Amy Douglas is Director of Legal Services of the Arkansas State Teachers Association (ASTA), a state chapter of AAE. Amy started her legal career in 2006 with the Pulaski County Public Defender’s office where she represented indigent clients with criminal matters. In 2008 she started working for the Arkansas Public Defender Commission representing indigent clients charged with capital murder. For six years she traveled throughout the state litigating for capital defense. In 2014, she returned to the Pulaski County office to stay close to home. In January 2020, Amy became the Managing Attorney and Director of the Professional Licensure Standards board of the Arkansas Department of Education. Her passion for educators and commitment to due process has brought her to join the team at Arkansas State Teachers Association. She lives in Little Rock with her daughter, Avery.
